Ryan first became interested in wood, and its endless opportunities, when he was a young boy. At 16, he set out on his joinery career, starting as an apprentice and was soon working for local firms.

With his flair, ingenuity and talent, when he and expert builder Mike Parsley joined forces to create Cumbrian-based Shire Homes, they established an exceptional business. It has grown from strength to strength, with a strong emphasis on conservation and heritage projects.

This has given Ryan the perfect platform to branch out and give his artistic talents free rein, working in ‘the best place on the planet’.
